This medium size ( 50 x 32 x 32cm approx) hand crafted market basket has a long round leather covered handle suitable for wearing over the shoulder. It is available in 5 colours produced exclusively for Le Panier.

- Strips are woven from fallen palm fronds then sewn together in ‘rounds’ (the more rounds, the larger the bag). Each one can take up to eight hours to weave, depending on the size and is unique – no two are quite the same.
- Lightweight and strong, these baskets are ideal for supermarket (goes straight from trolley to boot without all the plastic) or farmer’s market shopping, as a beach or pool bag, a weekender or washing basket.

NOTE: The baskets no longer have a rivet as shown in the individual images. We had issues with them rusting after a time, so they are now stitched as shown in the last image. This stitching is hand -done and has proven to be more durable than the rivet.
