Possum Hand Puppet

Possums - have no natural predators in NZ.  They were brought here from their native Australia to establish a fur trade in the 1830's but sadly, when this venture proved unsuccessful these pests were let loose and we now have many, many millions of these greedy marsupials living in destroying our forests and killing our threatening our native wildlife  Using this puppet to enact Erin Devlin's story songbook Oh, No Mister Possum  is a popular activity in preschool/kindergarten environments around NZ.  The ultimate plan is to send these pests back home to their native Australia and our tamariki are vocal in their belief that this is would be a great outcome.
